Acid Testing

Acid Etch Testing

Derived from ASTM D1308
This test is intended to determine the effect of common acidic graffiti etch agents, on clear and pigmented protective anti-graffiti films resulting in any objectionable alteration of the surface such as discoloration, change in gloss, blistering swelling, or loss of adhesion. The test specimens are exposed to 1.0 mL of acidic etch agent (ammonia/sodium bifluoride, and hydroflouric acid), and effects are recorded for durations of 5 min, 24,48, and 72 hours. The tests can be carried out uncovered and covered. Click on the link to view our testing and test results.
